Community School is authorized by Pillsbury United Communities
(PUC-MN). PUC-MN is a community-based, venture orientated nonprofit
agency that traces its roots to Minneapolis’ Bethel
Settlement, one of 400 settlement houses designed to improve
living conditions in inner cities that were established at the
turn of the 19th century. The purpose of PUC-MN remains one of
helping people out of poverty by developing strong relationships
with individuals and their families.
PUC-MN has authorized twelve charter schools
in the past seven years, and has developed a system of accountability
measures to ensure that all sponsored schools meet academic and
financial standards.
